The instructors at the Centre have a wide range of qualifications, expertise and experience.
This includes eventing at national and international levels, work with competition horses in the UK and overseas, together with a knowledge of ‘Intelligent Horsemanship’ and a sympathetic understanding of the needs of the rider and their expectations. The following are the main instructors:

Lizzel, is one of the co-owners of Severnvale. She is a Fellow of the British Horse Society, and an International Junior Event Team Trainer (she was British Junior Team Trainer for five years and is now Junior Team Trainer for Portugal). Lizzel has a broad experience in teaching exam students as well as all levels of competition riders, and is also a British Eventing accredited trainer.Patrick Print, chairman of the BHS, commenting on Lizzel’s success at becoming a Fellow, said: “Elizabeth has a fantastic all-round general knowledge of, and enthusiasm for, equestrianism, coupled with being a first-class coach.” She is also a listed BHS examiner, a past winner of the coveted Pat Smallwood Trainers Award, and an international event rider, having represented her country on several occasions. She competed at Badminton in 1992 and has ridden at Intr 1 and PSG in dressage, as well as competing at national championships. |

Ellie looks after the yards at Severnvale.She holds a BHS. AI. Certificate, having trained at Hartpury College, where she successfully completed a BTEC National Diploma in Equine Business Management. She also holds the Advanced National Certificate in Equine Business Management, which she took at Warwickshire College. Until starting at Severnvale, she worked as Head Groom/Instructor at Porlock Vale Horse Hotel and Riding Centre on Exmoor, where she taught all levels of riders in flatwork, jumping and cross-country. |

Juliet is an established member of the Severnvale team.She has many years of experience with nervous adults and children. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Equine Science from Hartpury Collage as well as a preliminary certificate in Intelligent Horsemanship. Juliet is well known for her much loved and fantastic approach to children’s coaching. She looks after the Pony Club activities at the Centre, and runs a wide range of activities and camps for children during the school holidays. |
