Staff at Severnvale Equestrian Centre Chepstow rose to the challenge when they recently undertook a sponsored dive in aid of the charity Starlight.

The dive was the brain child of Chris Goddard a keen diver, who last year with two other fathers was sponsored to sit on a horse for 15 minutes once again, in aid of Starlight. ‘I was so impressed with the work that Starlight do in making wishes come true for such ill children that I thought it was the turn of staff at Severnvale to learn a new skill’ says Chris. Chris who is always at the yard with daughter Rebecca was delighted when five of Severnvale’s girls agreed to take part in the dive.

 ‘I felt very nervous on the day of the dive and wondered what I had let myself in for. The instructors were great though and really gave us the confidence to have a go’ says Kat (whose father also did the sponsored ride). The girls have been very busy persuading clients to sponsor them for their efforts. To date they are promised £600 and are hoping to persuade a few more to give generously.

 ‘We’re very proud of our staff for taking in part in the dive and particularly for supporting such a worthy charity. We have chosen Starlight as our nominated charity and we are already planning what our next activity will be’, said Liz Winter proprietor of Severnvale Equestrian Centre
